Think of Fortnite as a business: Console brings in most of the money - so they get aimbot and reduced recoil clowns on keyboard make up most of comp and streamers (ninja, Nick eh 30, sypherPk), so if they die to a controller players one time and say "AiM aSsIsT Op." it gets nerfed, or those mnk losers quit, which means less viewership for Fortnite PC controller is basically useless now and the game really isn't fun anymore. PC controller is such a minority group that epic really doesn't care about them/us. What you're saying is absolutely spot on but nothing will be done about it.
In short I think PC + controller is the worst input method for this game currently by far. Ive been a console player for years and I just built a pc. The recoil on PC controller is nuts too compared to console but im fine with that personally. If you've never played with a controller on PC best way to describe the difference is AR tracking there's no stick, and up close I can hit my shotgun shots but when you pull out your smg or whatever follow up weapon you're using it feels like your sensitivity is to the f*cking moon. You're going against the mouse and keyboard guys and you're still getting aimbotted by the console / controller players. If you're on pc / controller you're just screwed. So what's the difference if PC / controller had the same aim assist as console / controller? It's such a small portion of the player base I doubt it'd be a game breaker if the small portion of pc / controller players had the same aim assist as console / controller. Considering 90% of the player base is on console / controller, that means that mouse and keyboard pc players are already getting aimbotted by console players with AR's 100m out anyways. It's my understanding that there's no way to turn off cross play. Id call it unplayable, unenjoyable at the least. On the other hand, if you use a controller on PC it's completely scuffed.
